The Department of Fundamental Mechanics provides future engineers with professional knowledge of two important areas of Mechanics, namely Materials Mechanics and Vector Mechanics. The Department orientates to a wide variety of engineering majors, including Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Water Conservancy, Mining and Biomechanics.
The Department of Fundamental Mechanics offers:
➢ Fundamental introductory courses
The courses cover the major areas of mechanics, such as Materials Mechanics, Engineering Mechanics Statics, Dynamics, and Vibrations. The goal of these courses is to analyze and solve the problems involved in engineering application through basic concepts and theories in mechanics.
➢ Experimental approach courses
Students are encouraged to discover physical reality through experimental phenomena such as equilibrium or motion of rigid bodies, and material deformations.
